Maria Nikolopoulou belongs to the Laboratory and Teaching Staff of the Department of Philology, National and Κapodistrian University of Athens. She studied in the National and Κapodistrian University of Athens (BA, Classics) and King’s College London (MA and Ph.D. in Modern Greek Studies). Her research interests include the reception of women’ s writing, the role of literature in the construction of memory of historical events, the role of periodicals in history of ideas and the post-war avant-garde. She has a 20-year teaching experience in all levels of education, spanning from expat community schools to open, distance and conventional education. She has taught European and Modern Greek Literature at the University of Patras and the Greek Open University (associate lecturer). She has participated in international research projects and in many international conferences on her field in Europe and the USA.
